Shopping in Winterberg

The Sauerland Boulevard offers plenty of opportunities to spend an afternoon or a day shopping.

Am Waltenberg, also known as the Sauerland Boulevard, is the main shopping street in Winterberg. This street runs from the main square, the Marktplatz, all the way up past the famous Hotel de Brabander. Am Waltenberg boasts a wide variety of shops ranging from clothing stores to souvenir shops and restaurants.

The centre of Winterberg is famous for its cosy atmosphere and compact design. Since everything is concentrated in one area, you can while away a few hours here, regardless of the weather. You can also take a break in one of the many cafés and restaurants. 

Winterdorf Christmas market

During the winter months, a visit to a Christmas market is a must. As it happens, Winterberg has a very cosy one. In December, the "Winterberger Winterdorf" opens right in the city centre, featuring many cosy huts where you can enjoy live music, fun gifts, regional dishes and an ice-skating rink. Why not combine a visit to the market with a few days of skiing, snowboarding or cross-country skiing?
