Experience your summer holiday in Winterberg!
Although the name Winterberg suggests otherwise, this destination is also ideal for booking a summer holiday. Where Winterberg is completely devoted to winter sports, snow and ski slopes in the winter, you can fully enjoy activities such as hiking, cycling, climbing, swimming and tobogganing here in the summer.
Hiking
In the vicinity it is full of hiking trails; long distances, short distances, uphill or on flatter terrain. In short: you can determine the intensity of your walk yourself. You can inquire at the Tourist Information which walking routes best suit your level and / or needs.
Mountainbiking
Our homes at the Fichtenweg are 600 meters from the famous Bikepark of Winterberg. The park offers many different courses with jumps, curves and spectacular descents. You can also rent a mountain bike here and be informed about the possibilities based on your level. Here too, there is sufficient variation for both beginners and advanced bikers.
Climbing
One of the most popular activities in Winterberg is climbing in the "Kletterwald". The Kletterwald offers different climbing courses, plotted among trees at different heights. A challenge for both young and old, here too you can choose the level of difficulty of your climbing course.
Swimming
Several swimming pools are available in the Winterberg area. When you stay in one of our apartments at Am Waltenberg, you can of course use the swimming pool in the apartment complex!
Bowling
It remains fun: a game of bowling with family or friends. Fun and activity are combined on the bowling alley. In Winterberg you can go to Bowlhaus Winterberg, an 8-lane bowling center. Located close to the railway station, so easily accessible, even without a car.
Karting
Are you ready for a bit more speed? Then book an afternoon on the go-kart track. Winterberg offers the choice of two go-kart tracks: Kartfun Neuastenberg (indoor) and Kartbahn Niedersfeld (outdoor). So you can have fun on the go-kart track in all weather conditions!
(Summer) toboggan run
Are you on holiday in Winterberg, then a visit to the toboggan run is not to be missed! In Winterberg you can go tobogganing at 3 different locations:
- • The Sommerrodelbahn Winterberg on the Erlebnisberg Kappe
- • The Schanzen Wirbel Alpine Coaster on the Herlohberg
- • The Herloh Blitz Mountain Coaster on the Herlohberg
Your sled is pulled up to a height of around 700 meters, after which you can "ride" the toboggan run down from this height. With the throttle you determine your speed yourself. Tobogganing is a popular activity, especially in the summer, but in good weather conditions the toboggan runs also remain open in the winter.
Fly-line
With the Fly-line on the Erlebnisberg you descend down the mountain while sitting in a swing. While floating above the ground you can enjoy a view of the mountain, the trees and any mountain bikers present.
Panorama bridge
For the most spectacular view, visit the Panorama Bridge on the Erlebnisberg Kappe site. The 400 meter long bridge offers, in addition to a fantastic view, various climbing devices for the sporty types and/or children. At the end of the bridge you can choose whether you go down the stairs or via the slide.
Kahler Asten tower
On top of the Kahler Asten, the most famous mountain in the Sauerland, stands the Kahler Asten tower. You can climb the tower for a payment of € 1.00 per person. You climb up a spiral staircase and enjoy a beautiful view.
